> Savix says he specifically "declined a $5,000 deal to play Mists of Pandaria" in World of Warcraft Classic to keep playing OSRS, "so put some respect on my name, man. I actually enjoy this game. I rejected big money to play this."

People would rather NOT play WoW than take $5,000 dollars.

>accept the 5 grand
>switch to wow
>lose your followers
no retard would take the deal unless you are big enough to not care about your viewership.

Is this really a news headline in 2025? When did news start taking after light novels?

i thought streamers got like 3-5K bounties for 1-2 hour slots or something so on the one hand if they expected a significant amount of time i'd tell them to fuck off too

Every MMO dev loves to spew this "you can play all other games!" bullshit, and then their game has a monthly sub and multiple systems like FOMO and sunk cost built in to make you want nothing else

The real reason is almost every streamer with an audience knows not to work with Blizzard when they offer such a shitty amount, and its not because of the amount.

In your contract you have a moral turpitude deal along with it, meaning if you say something they don't like or problematic, they don't have to pay you and it can be awhile until payment is processed.

$5000 is nothing in this economy. Blizzard knows this, too.

5k is not a lot when it comes to streamer deals
medium to bigger streamers usually get paid 10-20k for a one hour shill stream
they may get paid 5k just for watching 3 minute trailer
