I’ve only beat it once when I was a kid. My parents wouldn’t let me keep the console on with the TV off so I had to do it in one play though. It took about 3 hours without warping to play through the whole thing. I think I was 10

I did it many times on my SNES, and recently I beat the NES version, legit, no warps, continue cheat, or the infinite lives trick.
