No one acknowledges vistas in vidya anymore. Im shocked how all the fucking zoombies™ just rush along levels and never look at details. Textures, skyboxes, architecture. Nothing. Just rush from npc to quest to boss fight, etc.

I also regularly stand by and watch entire day/night cycles in games.

Another example. I have yet to see one person who just marvel at this little scene and doesnt rush items or anything. Man. fuck zoomers.

I think the greatest offense in game visuals overall is the obsession with just adding so much junk and foliage fucking everywhere in the name of "adding detail". So many game levels these days are just absolutely cluttered with shit, making them use the stupid yellow paint to guide people because nothing pops out, the levels have no flow, there are no intended lines your eyes naturally take when entering an area because of thought out lighting cues or anything. It's just a smattering of shit everywhere.

That's funny, just yesterday i was playing elden ring and watching the scenery in limgrave. There's birds coming out of the horizon. fallen leaves from the erdtree. when the sun is falling and it goes through the cloud's skybox, the clouds generate a hue red tint. Limgrave is also cloudy, they hide all those stars in the sky tl when you get to liurnia. However if you pay attention you can still see some big brilliant stars. There's also the fact that in the night, when the leaves are falling you get a boost I think in rune acquisition. The game does not comunicate this to you other than some icon in the hud and that's great.

One thing I love about Guild Wars 2 is the art direction and world design or whatever. Lots of beautiful locations to see and explore. Sometimes while I'm shitposting etc I'll set my character somewhere pretty in GW2 on my other monitor.
