Nintendo hasn't had an original idea in years.
>>715824054 (OP)Innovation stems from doing things that work over and over again. You don't learn how to create original ideas from nothing.
>>715824054 (OP)kirby forgotten land is already just "kirby odyssey" so its inclusion here is a bit redundant
>>715824375It reinforces the statement in the OP.
>>715824054 (OP)Where is the kirby and the forgotten land inspiration in dk bananza
>>715824636Mouthful Mode transformations = Bananza transformations.
>>715824054 (OP)I guarantee you nobody at Nintendo ever played this Hulk game. Just like when the developers of Ratchet and Clank were flattered that SMG used “their” gravity idea and Miyamoto said “what is Rachet and Clank? Is that for PC?”
Also, DKB’s DNA is all SMO. If you played it you would know this
>>715824636They're basically the same game but for their respective franchises.
>>715824054 (OP)How else do you make a game with exploration and platforming?
>Mario used to have 2d platformers
>Kirby used to have 2d platformers
>DK used to have 2d platformers
wtf... nintendo was never original...

>>715824054 (OP)The best games of all time are not the creative ones, but the games that take these original ideas and expand them.
Lets compare Super Mario Bros(a game that created the platforming genre, but is very primitive and limited compared to todays games) and Mario Odyssey(a game that used SMB ideas and took them to a whole new level.)
Which one would you say is better? The answer is quite obvious.

>game about procedural digging, uses a chunk and deformation system like bazinga
>staff worked all across Japan, SCE, Fromsoft, Bamco, Sega, Square, Genki, SNK, and of course Nintendo
Nothing new under the sun.
>>715824375The level design is much closer to 3D World but with properly contextualized environments. The only similarity to Odyssey is mouthful mode acting like simpler abilities akin to Odyssey's captures, but those were inspired by Kirby's ability copying in the first place.
>>715825292Reddit spacing is a bannable offense btw.
>>715824998>Also, DKB’s DNA is all SMO. If you played it you would know thisThere are some key differences. Free climbing is more like BotW. Odyssey is all about freeform jumping while you're barely ever off the ground in Bananza.
>>715824054 (OP)This game cemented that there will never be another good Hulk game
>>715825313As someone who actively played this game in my younger years, I can safely say this plays nothing like Bananza. This one is strictly about discovering new dungeons and digging, and while Bananza has digging, it’s more or less an action platformer about destruction. It’s more aptly comparable to Hulk ultimate destruction, drihoo is dig dug mixed with your typical dungeon crawler game
I've only seen streams of it, but for me the biggest issue is the palette. The colors are gross and don't go together, and the textures are too shiny. I'm sure the terrain destruction (it looks ass too tho) was a lot of work to get right, but the game looks like ass, which is uncommon for a donkey kong game. It looks really easy, but that in itself isn't necessarily a problem.
Forgotten Land was pretty easy, and looks like the newer game of the two visually.
>>715826001DK Bananza is just an upscaled Switch 1 game it turned out, so that explains everything.
>good games tied one packageThis is bad? DKB is Odyssey meets Ultimate Destruction with a taste of Red Faction. That's precisely why I'm liking the 15 hours I played so far.
>>715825541>you're barely ever off the ground in Bananza. The game has a strong focus on elevation and verticality. You jump and perform tricks in this game all the time.
>>715826089Not everything, Forgotten Land is a switch 1 game and looks great, whereas Bonanza looks like ass, not only on a graphical level but on an artistic level as well.
