How many of you actually pick the "be an asshole" dialouge options in vidya?

I'm curious, because when I play vidya, I can't bring myself to do it. Probably because I just can't imagine someone talking like this in real life.
Or do you pick these options BECAUSE it is vidya and you face no consequences?

I pick those kind of options when I don't like the characters involved.

The problem is when the game locks you out of content for choosing the asshole options
I bet you miss a quest and reward for choosing that last option

Always. Chaotic evil is a must be for first walkthrough (although it's not the best idea cause you lock away a lot of content by performing evil deeds)

Hey guys, did you know Orin can transform into a child for sex just like Halsin can transform into a bear for sex?

Sometimes if I play the evil path as a second playthrough. Though this kind of dialogue is just absurd.

When I'm playing an RPG I'll be an asshole and/or retarded evil 90% of the time. KotOR was the game that finally broke me because light side was so fucking lame that it pained me, and the truth of the matter is evil quests/solutions are usually more fun even when they're stupid. Oddly the exception to this is Fallout 1 and 2 where the world is shitty enough that I'll typically play a straight hero

Being evil is always more fun for me in RPGs

It brings back the memories of childhood, of playing games like theyre toys, trying things out to see the results rather than having to play the "right way" and "responsibly"

Unfortunately, its rare for RPGs to allow u to be actually evil -- deceptive, utilizing guile and posing as a good guy, tricking people, lying -- most of the time the evil option is the comically evil "villain" option.
I imagine its mostly because writers are scared their audience wont "get it" that theyre picking the evil option if theres any nuance to it,

Also
>taking recommendations for RPGs where you can be _realistically_ evil -- like mentioned above, allowed to lie and mislead for profit, use people etc.

Is Age of Decadence any good in this regard?

Depends on the game, as some games have a clear bias for certain routes, as in one alignment route being more fleshed out development-wise than another, see Fallout New Vegas and NCR, which is the most developed faction with the most quests leading most players to join them just 'cause there's more content to be had there.
I liked being a comically evil asshole in Fallout 3, now the main quest is a linear affair without de-facto freedom of choice (choosing to poison the water with the FEV virus has little to no effect afaia), but most sidequests allow you to be a cunt in ways I have seen few other games do, goddamn you could enslave literal children in F3

Sometimes for metagaming reasons of just exploring the available options, or the very rare occassion in which it's actually good (after all, generally speaking it's not). Like, most games just don't allow self-consistent RP of an evil/rationally self-interested person becausethe rest of the game outside of few "kick puppies for funzies" options railroads you into a selfless hero.

Pathfinder: WotR for example is one of the exceptions because there's demonic essence in you from the start, or you lose your humanity in the process of becoming a lich/swarm-that-walks, or because you have an uncanny foresight for doing "weird" (and sometimes evil) things that somehow miraculously turn out for the better: nothing's more natural for metaphysically chaotic evil demon than following your nature and doing chaotic evil things, but there's also a solid rationale for using your demonic powers to fight the demons and succumbing in the process, or doing a cold-hearted calculation and deciding undead are the right tool for the job of ending a demonic threat. Oh, and in Rogue Trader you are an aristocrat in a fascist society, and doing "blatantly evil" things is what's expected of you.

Depends on the game. Being a complete dick in Dragon Age Origins is still the most fun way of playing the game. Especially a power tripping mage.

I do it in Mass Effect and the KOTOR games sometimes because they tend to result in funny scenes or situations.
