What does this mean for Xbox's multimedia plans, going forward?

Xbox doesn't have any plans beyond doing nothing & selling a subscription that offers nothing until people wake up and stop paying, then they'll just shutter the whole thing Microsoft style.

This reminds me, all the way back around 2012 or 2013, I used my Xbox 360 to buy all three seasons of Star Trek The Original Series (the remastered version). I think I bought them because Star Trek Into Darkness was about to release in theaters and there was some digital sale on Xbox where you could get the original series for a stupid cheap price.

I haven't used my Xbox 360 to watch movies or TV shows in a long time, but I can still go to the Microsoft movies app on my PC, and that Star Trek TOS purchase I made 12 years ago is still there. In fact, I can actually download each episode individually and watch them offline. Pretty cool. I don't think you could download movies and TV shows on the Xbox consoles, but at least you can do that on PC.

That also reminds me of when Steam had movies and shows on it for a few years. I bought a good chunk of season one of Ash vs Evil Dead, then they took it off and the only way to buy it on Steam for a long while was a Dead by Daylight bundle. I think that and the Postal movie were two of the last things to get taken off the platform from that feature.
