MOBAs are not fun and make me angry. I recently stopped playing Smite, and Smite was just a more casual version of LoL.
I still love Poppy, though.

I played league for a disgustingly long amount of time but quit and never went back after selling my account for like 60 bucks so that I wouldn't even be tempted to come back. The only thing I miss about league is the yordles.

I just started to hate the game though. It became a chore several nights a week, but it was just the most convenient game for our group of friends. Late at night and want to hang out? how about 6 games of league in a row even when your jungler is on tilt and playing off meta because 'it's fun' and 'magic carry botlane can totally work'. Sometimes the game was actually very fun... but it was normally a slog when everyone you play with varies so highly in skill ranking and everyone wants to play the midlane mage or the 'support' bot lane. At least I got out of it before they started selling gacha only skins that could potentially take hundreds of dollars to get.

Their hubris and pride will never let riot admit they fucked up on anything. Even though everyone involved with his rework has been fired or shuffled around. The intern that started on it was the same guy who made Ksante and he got shitcanned. The lore writer was some pink hair twitter pronoun whore who since left riot. The artist might still be around but his art is so fucking terrible, it looks AI generated.
The best thing they could do is repurpose all the new assets into a completely different champion and bring back the old sad boi, but they're never going to do that. Instead they're going to continue to claim it was a success because he's a pro play champion.

I will NEVER understand their retarded statement that a crystal scorpion is a design that attracts less people than some generic rock monster.
Why change his entire Identity? His lore did not need to be changed at all. They should have added more to it instead. It 100% has something to do with the blue hairs at riot being triggered by le genocide after Seraphine's controversy (which got retconed very fast btw) and Arcane retconing shit just to be different, changing the way hextech crystals are made.

Because Seraphine was riot's biggest Mary Sue the game had seen since Kaisa. They thought that any negative controversy about her would result in less people forming parasocial relationships with a fictional character, so as soon as the backlash against her started Riot had to scrub it all away. The irony is keeping that plot point would have resulted in an actual palatable character but hey, gotta keep waifufags happy since they buy the most skins. Even still the controversy stuck with the playerbase which doomed Skarner to win the rework poll and, well, we saw how that turned out.
And yeah, Arcane had to ignore him because I doubt any of the animators on that show could find a way to incorporate him. Even still there were a million better ways they could have continued Skarner's lore that weren't just sticking him in WakandaIxtal with the shittiest lore ever.
