There are very (un)subtle differences in quality or quantity that you discover if you play it. A 2-hour grind is amped to 100-hour in the gacha. There's a daily. That is qualitative-You have to fit a grind in the real-life timezone. The former game didn't need that. The balancing being around bronze/N or gold/UR and that is a bad way to balance it.
The grind could be already bordering on the limits of what a Metroidvania player might enjoy, those aspects are worsened 100x in a not-too-good gachapon and OP wonders why a player will find fault in them. The game will also take bad aspects from another thing-eg. excessive dlc, now amplify it 100x.

1. Micro transactions are bad. Even in other games.
2. Normal games have traditionally been designed as a game first and then had a store added to it. Even if some aspects of the game are designed to encourage micro transactions, they're still games. Gachas (and korean mmos) are at their core a shopping software with nothing to sell, and the "game" isn't a game it's a whole construct made to waste your time and make you buy nothingness. AAA are going that way too obviously and I have not much more respect for AAA pigs that gacha whales.
