Is this worth playing?
I played a few of the older ones and 4 golden. I haven't played 5 yet because of the price on steam but it's on a discount right now. Not really sure what the consensus on it is though. If I liked 3 and 4 will I like this one?

Combat is more fun, but might be too easy. Maybe there are difficulty mods by now. There are actual dungeons now instead of mostly randomly generated shit. You will have to read. A LOT. At some point I went like 8 hours without any combat. That was tiring.
That's basically it. If you liked 3 or 4, I don't see why you won't like this one.

Well the game is probably like 150 hours long for a first time player, so it's really not that bad in comparison. Plus I'm pretty autistic about managing my days, and if you're not like that, you can probably just go and fight some faggots instead.

The initial set-up before you get into the core of the game is too long, bout once you're past that it gets better, and just because there's no combat doesn't mean you're not playing, it's just quite normal to beat a new dungeon in a day or two and then go into schedule management mode until the next story beat.

15 hours seems quite long, when I say initial set-up I mean all the stuff before you gather your three-man team and can come and go from Kamoshida's dungeon.

dont bother bc its the only one of the most polished jrpgs in the last decade with an s tier vibe and characters people still argue about years later

Great games worth playing but with inor caveats (eg. That damn cats and too many dialogues). P4 golden is the best in my books, but 5, albeit a bit too long, is quite nice (and have a great OST too). So if you can afford it and have the time go for it, it has a cool vibe.

I would say avoid if you are a wagie and can't dedicate time to it, it's easily a 100h+ playthrough, otherwise enjoy

No. I was disappointed with 4, but felt it was solid. I then loved 3FES and 4 began a downward trend until 5 came out, which I despised. Royal's new stuff is good. Not worth foisting 5 on you though. My main interests are characters and combat however, both of which I found horrendous in 5. There is one other thing that really irks me, but it's a spoiler. Execution of the premise in all its aspects concerning the underdog story, the criminal setup, the ostracized characters and oppressive tone. All of them were halfway P4'd destroying them. I will also say this isn't that I wanted it to be something else due to expectations than it ever intended. I genuinely think that by its own premises it's failing to be true to itself. However I do recognize that if you're into style, managing the routine and wasting free time in comfort rather than to reach the end or getting invested, you should like it. Also outsiders in general do seem to love it, so there could very well be something in it for you.

I would still say no. Just go play something else.
