"modern games" being easier is a weird comment to make no matter how you look at it.
On one hand, Arcade games were made for you to use more tokens/quarters. They were hard on purpose.
Scores were designed to have people come back and try again or get other's involved which entices people to keep playing and bragging. No different than playing darts, pool, bowling, etc.
In the 90's, majority of games were coming from Japan and America. Japan claimed they made games easier for us on purpose because they thought we couldn't do what they can.
But for every time we hear about "Oh this version is harder than this region" there's always the counter claim "They made this harder on purpose".
A fine example would be the Lion King game, they did this on purpose due to rental services like Blockbuster.
Also certain games naturally get easier the more you progress such as RPGs, basically any genre you can get better things to increase the likelyhood of success.
Fighting Games can't really be applied to this because they were always meant to be competitive, so the difficulty in that is more based on who you are against vs how good you are as a player.
So what are you even babbling about?
