Is the MCC worth picking up?

The only thing it doesn't give you is the matchmaking experience of the late noughties because there's no pre-game lobby, map voting or post-game lobby.
Campaign is as good as ever and there's a server browser for all the whacky custom games halo's physics engine facilitates.
It's worth it for full price. It's DEFINITELY worth it on sale.

PC version? No. Hell I'm not even sure console has it. (It has to, right?)

https://youtu.be/_DVN3fHKGsA

There are various mods that add it back but I never personally tried them.

So many games have been ruined by zoomers having awful taste and millenials having to grow up and slave away for jews and women

I wish they'd added a classic mode to play the games at the original resolutions. You can technically do so, but all the effects have been adjusted to appear correctly on 1080p+ only and look fucking weird and wrong at 640x480.
That, and fix all the weird small glitches that make the games inaccurate to the original releases. Open sourcing the games would do wonders but that'll never happen.

I hope they never update the game ever again. All the best mods are unplayable with online functionality because you have to play an outdated version of the game. That if anything is what killed the momentum the modding community had after workshop support was added.

The remake graphics are fucking terrible. Completely shit all over everything, absolutely zero coherence or vision, all it does is make the environment harder to look at and navigate due to unless low quality pointless details obscuring the overall form. And of course they just flat out change cold lighting to warm and all other shit just shitting all over the original vision for no reason other than attempt to beautify it while making it just look like overdesigned noisy crap

mods can do that
besides, the mod support has only gotten worse with updates with more crashing and bizarre glitches like odst's hub world not loading the modded version
it's still better to use the classic method of modding where you replace map and fmod files

man i wish this existed when i played trough MCC with a mate, at the time the only available tool was running two instances of the game and playing coop on a local network from the same machine
Such a bitch to set up and have it run with the controllers properly

You clearly don't know anything about all this but you're acting all smug regardless.
Every update did something to make modding worse.
Either breaking the mod tools or breaking the game itself.
Mods have to be reconstructed from scratch with the bigger updates that change the map files in ways you described.
Modders got sick of it.

Usually not. At worst, they recompile the maps(like 20 minutes if you have a shit PC), or simply change the version number in the mod uploader.

Yeah, you're right. I don't know a whole lot about the modding community. They did fix important bugs like the Halo 3 BR though so ultimately patching MCC has been a net positive as far as I'm concerned.
Have there even been any projects to act as comprehensive fixes or are they all a bunch of ODST SMG in Halo 3 tier wastes of time?

it's still broken in 3 and still broken in 2 despite their claims that it was fixed
the issue is server side but the 'fixes' were all client side
the advantage the 'fixes' provide is that you are more likely to hit your shots in red reticle range

343 is fucking dead, you've already gotten your wish for no updates.
Now show me how is still broken because since this patch
https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/23707515298324-Halo-The-Master-Chief-Collection-MCC-Update-February-2024
it certainly seemed fixed to me.

If it's broken because of the multiplayer netcode that's a separate issue and I don't play Halo MP anyway because of controller fags, so I wouldn't know.
Let's see if you can respond like a civilized gentleman without acting like a fucking nigger again.

I ran a quick game on 4th of July. It was just team slayer on a rotation of 7 maps. Had fun with it so I'll do that again.
I'll post when it's up.
Might throw in CTF on a couple maps.

I played the whole package using Nucleuscoop, except I got two monitors so both me and my gf had a dedicated big screen.
It's basically running two instances and faking a lan connection, your PC must be able to handle it.
