Why woud anyone who plays videogames be against "Stop Killing Games "?

I support it but names can be very manipulative. Have you heard of the Anti Defamation League? Name sounds righteous and offical, turns out they're just a bunch of crazy grifters who try to defend obviously guilty people.

i cant think of a single multiplayer game that would benefit from it

any MP game worth a shit already has a private server with no players in it and that no one would miss in case it disappeared

An admirable goal, my only problem with it is getting the government involved

He used to work at Blizz, so my guess is at Blizz they brainwash their devs to sale and do whatever they must to make money. If you have a game where you can always have fun, or rather can pirate (like emulators) the companies won't be making as much money as they would greedily. Think about it.

at some point you gotta accept that the government isn't the big bad wolf you think it is. It's sometimes the only weapons people have to protect themselves from private interests.

Correct, the government is the pig that builds his house out of straw despite making us pay for bricks

The problem is this part here

>live service

How many games have been developed with this goal in mind? Live service, by their nature, have an expiration date. The entire concept shouldn't exist in the first place because once the live service dies, so does the game you bought

The people who support stop killing games likely don't even have a gog account. The irony is that they'd have a steam account where they own a license to their games instead.

I think it's more a question who else has the ability to stop corpos. It's like how at one point industries had literal children working in mines for psychotic hours because there was no one to tell them to cut that shit out. Yeah you could just "not work there" but money has no morals and anyone desperate enough to send their 7 year old to be buried alive doesn't have the ability to choose how they get their next meal. Hence the New Deal part of which tard wrangled sociopathic business owners from blatantly abusing their workers... to a point anyway. This doesn't mean the gubment is suddenly a hero. But it also doesn't mean regular people didn't appreciate the protections it gave.
