Will there ever be a flight simulator that isn't either riddled with game breaking bugs or looks like something with graphics from the early 2000s? Having a good modern flight simulator that actually works seems like a lost cause at this point.

Nuclear Option is a "just werks" game. Amazing it only took me 3 minutes in the controls menu to be happy and not the usual hour it takes with only sims

I was talking about the competition, like X-Plane. MSFS looks good but every facet of the game is in a broken pre-alpha state and the devs don't have the money, resources, people, or will to fix any of it.

Microsoft's gaming division used to be some sort of prestige thing to them, "look at what we can ALSO do", etc. But those days are long gone.

If they wanted to, I'm sure they could fix MSFS in a jiffy. But it's no longer a point of pride to them.

As for the competition? We'll, I haven't followed that front in years, so I can't say. I'm mostly into trains anyway.

2024 was a downgrade. They also don't let you download the assets but the online streaming sucks so there's always bad pop in.
