Is Guerilla the only western studio in history were the engoodening happened later? Most like Bioware started on highs and fell off.

Killzone was deeply mediocre but horizon seems great? I didnt play the games yet but I watched a few reviews and they seem to have high production values like god of boy with great environments. Normies love that slop

Plenty of other studios did the same. Here's some just from within Sony:
Polyphony Digital started out by making two mediocre kart racers before finally making Gran Turismo
Naughty Dog made some Amiga games nobody remembers before finally getting a half-decent budget to work with on Way of the Warrior on the 3DO which ended up being awful. Their next game after that was Crash Bandicoot.
Bubsy 3D is one of the worst games ever made, but its devs bounced back and made Syphon Filter and later Days Gone

The thing about Horizon is that while the games are good, the audience didn't seem to grow much with the second one releasing. That and Sony desperately trying to make it in to a multi media franchise with spinoffs and TV shows that no one asked for and that the series absolutely did not earn yet is starting to rub people the wrong way.

Horizon is boring and mediocre. It's not shit but it's seriously one of the most forgettable games ever made
their engine kicks ass though and I wish it replaced UE5

Killzone, for it's time, was really good. It had some unique elements that set it apart from it's contemporaries. Horizon has a decent concept but it plays like any Ubisoft game really. Seriously underbaked but it has pretty graphics I guess.

Horizon is carried hard by the robo dino concept. The problem is that normalfags don't care too much past the initial novelty and the gameplay feels by the number for people who really like robo dinos. I still don't know why Hermen Hulst keep pushing for this (more specifically, Aloy) into something big
