How is it that in 2025, people and publishers still get filtered by showing some skin?

Well, this year we had Raidou Remastered, Scar-Lead Salvation, The new Demon Slayer game, a new Digimon game, the PC version of Stellar Blade, a new Gal Guardians game and...that's pretty much everything.

And of course, that's without mentioning the fact that none of the games I mentioned are on par with the OP or something like Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, an Omega Labyrinth game etc...there is still fanservice in video games, but not as much as the games released in 2010-2019, anime style games with fanservice are clearly more tame in that aspect.

They don't control Japan or indies/doujin circles, they're competition for them and they're intimidated by it because its winning. They know they can't compete so they're using dirty tactics like cutting off payment processor support for them and spreading propaganda that its harmful IRL somehow.

The pornification of a Thing signifies the decline of that Thing in the cultural zeitgeist. Porn is cheesy, people don't take it seriously. Ergo anything that gets pushed to the fringes of porn isn't being taken seriously anymore. The less widely respected and popular something is, the more likely it is to start relying on a smaller and smaller group of consumers that get more loserish by the year, whose relationship to the product is more like that of an addict. Pornification is one of the great symptoms of this, just like stupid self-referential metastories are.
