You’re rationalizing that $3500+ dream build you were influenced into wanting by streamers (who are sponsored) and Big Computer.
I respect PC Gamers, but unless you are in the upper echelons of Nvidia GPU World you are going to pay more money to get similar performance (or worse) than PS5 Pro. When Sony/AMD update their upscaler, performance from of the PS5 Pro will get even better. $699 for a PS5 Pro and $499 for a Switch 2 isn’t a bad deal. For $1200 you can have all of that!
Price out a 1440p AMD only build and you’re going to be well over $1200 on the processor and GPU alone. Need more? You’re going to pay dearly, and you are still don’t have access to Nintendo IP or (admittedly the fewer) timed exclusives with Sony. Take exclusivity out of the conversation: even if Sony only carried you for multi platform games, you are not touching the value proposition of PS5 Pro.
But muh emulation. You just download roms and play them for 30 minutes, you’re no retro gamer. If you were you’d have some original hardware. You can still get a shitty laptop and do half of it anyway. Put your hard earned money into something that can grow and enjoy your hobbies with a balanced mindset.
