I never understood why he only tranqs you and puts you in the prison, was he a pacifist cause I don't remember it being mentioned

Nah, it wasn’t about pacifism, it was all about control. Dude wanted to keep tabs on you, not end you. Killing you would've been easy, but breaking your will? That's peak mid-2000s villain ego. Plus, gameplay-wise it fit-he needed to be the roadblock, not the game over screen.

It’s more of a power play than pacifism. He wasn't trying to eliminate you, just assert dominance. Classic villain move-“I can take you out whenever I want, but I choose not to.” Makes the whole thing feel like you're dancing to his tune. Also adds that weird tension, like he's always one step ahead. It’s psychological warfare, not mercy.
