As I understood and remember it: Some girl called Amy was sent to one of Gary's places to work, John and the gray guy at his side were sent to exorcise her but fucked up, John went back and fucked up again but to a lesser degree this time, (Chapter 1 ends) John had a nightmare, (Chapter 2 ends) then John went through places Gary's cult controlled, killing the demons there, and eventually found his way to Garyland, and finally confronted, Gary who turned out to be Astaroth, and Malphas, and then killed him and Malphas and Gary's mother who was actually the mastermind between the cult the whole time when they united into one body (Chapter 3 ends)

A priest with a phobia of clowns, asthma and a leg injury fucks up the exorcism of a girl, who had her face turned into a portal to Hell, Michigan. because he makes a deal with literally Lucifer, he then gets locked up in an asylum which only worsens his mental condition. After he gets better, he returns to finish the job and kind of does it but not really, also he kills a spider boy who was possessed by a demon using A GUN WITH ONE BULLET. He has a nightmare where he fights the nun that started the whole opening portals to Hell in people's faces cult with the priest from the movie Machete. After he wakes up he finds a letter from the aforementioned priest to go investigate a clinic, an apartment complex and a daycare center which has the entrance to the cults hideout. After beating Gary, the cult leader, he either gets inside the Crucible and banishes Malphas and has Gary transported back to Hell by the angry Antichrist or just blocks the entrance to the Crucible which delays the Profane Sabbath, aka the day when the Antichrist enters the human world and fucks shit up permanently.
