This is one of the first games I played when I busted out my PS2. Such a great game, difficulty gets kinda fucked later though.

I think it's a shame what the remake did, the dumbass characters you help around the maps is part of the charm. A lot of the dialogue is missing.

Tony himself wants it but at this point it's better off not happening. Iron Galaxy doesn't have the resources for a much bigger pair of games, and Vicarious Visions were murdered into Blizzard Albany. There's virtually no value in attempting this.

i mean sure the manual/grind trick switching can't be toggled off, but you can remove the other additions. otherwise you're basically just looking at three notable things: physics changes so the gaps aren't 1:1, movelist changes because they didn't perfectly align every returning skater with their old stuff, and goals having scores raised to accommodate for new score potential. and if you're gonna be THAT fucking pedantic about it, then what's the point of even playing these to begin with when you're clearly more set on the originals or 2X

What's stopping you from just muting the game soundtrack and using a youtube or spotify playlist of the original soundtrack? That's what I do with most games that have a licensed soundtrack (not GTA though) or a really repetitive score (like the new Tokyo Extreme Racer)

At the end of the day if you're emulating these games, there really isn't any big advantages the Xbox versions have on any single title until American Wasteland's 360 port, if you can consider bloom and extra effects worth it. 2X is kind of standalone as its own thing, but since you can already bump up the render resolution and the PS2 versions were only a little blurrier on textures, the performance gain you'd get on PCSX2 or Dolphin versus what Xemu can try to put it is pretty substantial.
It says a lot that the PC versions seem to generally use the PS2 versions as a basis for the ports rather than the Xbox versions.
