Prime is about being in a more proper POV of Samus, the game was designed around the first person perspective to be immersive, so in many regards it's a better FPS than Halo.

Prime still delivers a very unique experience with its 3D first person metroidvania design that has yet to be beaten or even mimicked outside of its sequels. Halo is bland by today's standards and its biggest stand out feature at the time was high production values with cutscenes/music.

There is nothing wrong with this. In fact for a console FPS that is single player only and about a person inside of a power armor suit this actually makes a ton of sense. Only issue to me really is the color coded enemies being immune to all weapon fire but its weakness. Would have been better if they resisted this but not immune. For Metroid Prime itself its fine since its a final boss. This may actually be my only huge gripe with the game beyond slight nitpicks here and there. Beam switching could have been faster to but then again GC only was working with 7 buttons.

Halo was popular because of multiplayer. The campaign was fun but doesn't matter.

Halo is an actual shooter with a fantastic soundtrack, vehicles, good weapons. Later on it had multiplayer and co-op. The sequels improved on so many things and Halo 2 was huge, 3 was even bigger. Prime is still a good series but lets not get crazy here.

I played both in their prime and sidestepping the apples to oranges bullshit, halo is better. Halo was more relevant to my formation and more relevant to me in adulthood. Prime was just "that was a good video game". It's not years of couch multiplayer and xbox live. If I had to return to a formula it would be halo. I was bored scanning things in prime sequels. Just play subnautica instead.
