Fallout is waaaaaay too quirky and "Reddit-tastic" for me. Prefer the more serious TES.

I like fallout 1/2, but don't like 3D fallout at all, so TES by default

Skyrim.
I did have some fun with Fallout 3 for about 50-60 hours but I was gone after that.
Tried that Vegas one after and could only get two hours in before being absolutely bored out of my mind.
Skyrim I went through a solid 200 hours back to back and grinded the fuck out of the game.

I think Bethesda's game design probably appeals to you more then, it doesn't seem like the games that are moreso actual RPGs interested you as much. What are your favorite things about skyrim? I used to really enjoy playing it, but after a while the combat/design just felt the most sterile to me out of all of bethesda's outings to that point and I haven't played it seriously for years. (Except the dragonborn DLC which was a lot better than the main game imo but still missing a lot of good morrowind things)

I think it was mainly just discovering shit and seeing funny or interesting stuff happen with magic/sneak, going around and just seeing NPCs, finding new shit in caves and decoratijng my houses with stuff that look cool and the quests were generally fun to do. Every time I found some village I'd spend at least 30 minutes in there.
I barely did any actual combat because 90% of my playthrough was me sneaking behind people to steal their stuff or one shotting them with daggers/bow shots and then I graduated to magic and spamming DBZ energy blasts that would clear out entire rooms of enemies at once, then it got even easier when I got mind control spells.
Combat was truly over when I got that one ring in a DLC that gave me some burn spell that has ticking damage that can stack with itself so I'd one shot everything.

I have more hours in Fallout then I do Elder Scrolls but I prefer Elder Scrolls more due to how moddable Skyrim is

I think Skyrim really was the last time you could argue that Bethesda was even remotely close to triple A standards. Every attempt prior or after from them has been so utterly dogshit compared to even the lowest of gamedevs at the time.

Pre Fallout 4 was 98% White and Asian dudes.
Prior to Fallout 4 the only darkies that worked at Bethesda were in the kitchen or janitorial staff and the only women were secretaries or community managers.

You can track the drop in quality with the increased focus on diversity.

Elder Scrolls is more consistent I feel, Fallout has had too many Bethesda turds made plus that dumb TV show.
However the peaks of Fallout are better than any TES
