>>715924490 (OP)I don't connect my sense of maturity to the aesthetic of Elden Ring, bro.
I've hated this idea since I was a child, that you have to act your age with video games, and only play GTA or Counter Strike if you're older than 15.
I've always rejected those types of people, and I see a lot of "gamer" gamers on /v/ who think this way. I play games for their design and implementation, and to appreciate the package they threw together.
I could understand this reaction if I was playing a Peppa Pig game for toddlers, but that's not what DK Bananza is. This is more like watching a Pixar Movie, which is a "for all ages" kind of thing more than it's a game just for little kids.
In fact, there's a lot of mechanical things in Bananza that makes me wonder if I'd ever realize it if I was still 9 years old playing it. I played Rayman 2 and Ocarina of Time back then, and there was a lot of obvious intended shit with mechanics and the control scheme I didn't realize until I was a little older.
The sheer chaos of this game at times also makes me wonder if I'd give it to my child if I was a dad. I could imagine giving them Mario Kart or Mario 3D World. But this game feels like there's quite a lot happening at times, requiring specific focus and attention to get from A to B. A kid playing this will probably just stay in the first world and smash everything and repeat the process.
