If according to /v/ journalists don't play video games, why do they give one of the most hardest video games ever made a perfect score?

They didn't play Dark Souls 2 too, just gave it 9/10 because the previous game was overlooked

Rating Shadow of the Erdtree 10/10 is proof of what tasteless fucking animals journos really are. I don't think it amounts to anything more than them being scared of From as the prestigious Japanese devs of the moment who are always careful to tow the line when it comes to stuff like gender (hence A/B bodytype shenanigans) and otherwise avoiding anything problematic, while having their 'hard' reputation.

All that really matters is SotE was complete shit, an awful parody of Souls made by monkeys with absolutely no sense of what made early Souls games good at all, and they have absolutely no understanding of this but will rate it 10/10 regardless.

they don't finish games and use summons so that trivializes the game

Because if you summon players or spirits it's no more difficult than a Zelda game.

Fromdrone are so mentally ill that they'd bomb their office if they gave anything less than 11/10 GOTYAY thank you holy messiah myazaki sama.
I think they're absolute garbage and I'd also gave them a perfect score just to avoid getting stabbed.

What made the early souls games good was the distinct sombre dark fantasy tone, labyrinthine level design, rich and compelling environmental storytelling, and challenging enemies and bosses.
SOTE excels in all of these aspects and, like Elden Ring proper, also boasts incredible world design, beautiful landmarks and vistas, and NPC character questlines that demonstrate markedly more involvement, relevance, and independency within the context of the setting than their predecessors.

SotE is literally the Dark Souls 2 of Elden Ring, not a single journo or youtuber even tried to be critical instead of riding the ER hype train. Furnace Golems alone should dock an entire point for being a travesty of game design.

Funnily enough it's really not that unpopular or contrarian to be critical of SotE even amongst fromdrones. It is kinda funny how some people talk about it though
>yeah every enemy is cancerous to fight
>and several chunks of the map are completely empty
>and it's annoying trying to navigate anywhere
>and the scadutree system is tedious and terribly imbalanced padding that kills replayability
>and there's maybe 4 or 5 good bosses out of 20
>and the lore is kinda bad
>and the final boss sucks donkey ass
>and the ending is a huge disappointment
>but it's still 9/10 gotyay
It's like they're afraid of being honest about their disappointment
