No, it's saying that once consoles became x86 boxes there was no weird console hardware features making the PC port have weird issues.

>console gen where game dev becomes easier than it ever has
>games proceed to get worse/"more expensive to produce" somehow despite easier development
I'm inclined to agree, given the number of current-gen games on UE5 that look and run worse than some of PS4's best.

Ironic considering how Sony was trying to be different just a generation prior and introduce technology, albeit hard to develop for, that might have been ahead of it's time.

The actual reason has to do with gas mileage regulations. It had an unintended affect of making bigger trucks more profitable, so they stopped making small trucks. Then they used big = good marketing and now trucks will always be fucked in the US because how do you teach the goyims any better after you do that.

Consoles are exactly where they should be now; a cheap box for casuals to play most current games. Exclusives are totally pointless for the consumer; enthusiasts don't want to buy a machine weaker than their own for one game, and casuals don't care about niche shit because they have all the casual, popular games than they could ever want.
It's funny that console warriors fixated on exclusives only to be BTFO by a lack of them, but it's puzzling that they're continuing to fight that war they lost 10 years ago.

What else is there though?
Anyone who's a "hardcore gamer" playing on consoles have literally nothing but exclusives as an argument. The fact that the concept of "console exclusives" barely existing anymore beyond Nintendo just doesn't seem to dent their willingness to die on the hill.

No. Affordability and quality. The ps5 has been better value than an equivalent pc since release day and will likely stay that way into the ps6 era with how little nvidia is doing in the gpu space. Also I don't have to worry about a game just randomly not accepting my controller on console.

>The ps5 has been better value than an equivalent pc
The PS5 could cost 10 bucks but with their insanely limited game library it still wouldn't be worth it compared to the tens of thousands of games on PC.
You people always argue value but it never makes any sense because value is determined by "amount of games you want to play on the system you're buying". If the ratio isn't good it doesn't matter if the console is practically free because it has to compete with a machine that has more games than you can boot up in a lifetime.

It makes perfect sense. Old shit can be played on an office pc found on the side of the road on garbage day new shit that requires actual power is what people care about which is where the ps5 dominates.

>Old shit can be played on an office pc
>pc
That's the keyword here. "pc". You can't do it on your PS5 no matter how much you pay for it.
>power is what people care about
Most people who consider themselves "gamers" barely play modern games. Power is meaningless and in terms of bang for your buck you're probably going to get more raw entertainment out of that PC you find on the side of the road than your PS5.
