Lmao has there ever been a more mismanaged company than Intel? They were the undisputed king and just started resting on their laurels. Lazy updates every year because no one was there to compete, screwing over consumers. No innovation. Now they are literally crumbling because of it.

Nvidia is following the exact same pattern.

nobody would have believed this in 2016, crazy how they never managed to beat AMD after Ryzen. I blame Intel for not making a proper third world friendly CPU, AMD had all of India and co. in their pockets thanks to cheap G series APUs and overclock friendly Ryzen 5 CPUs. Meanwhile Intel never let go the stupid fucking i9 meme.

We've been here before. 20 years ago when the Athlon was just way better value than Intel. People were proclaiming the death of Intel then too. Didn't happen.

Funnily enough, at the same time people were also proclaiming the death of Nvidia because the ATI cards were also way better value. How did that turn out?

Both companies were trying new things, actually. Intel had its ARC series of graphics cards. Nobody cares about them, and the support isn't there, so it's been a big failure, but they were trying.
Nvidia is actually entering the ARM cpu market for PCs(as is AMD actually), should be seeing the first ones late this year, so will see next year if it's also an embarrassing failure or not.

without intel putting pressure on amd, amd will just become the new intel.

Intel is so fucking stupid holy shit
Layoffs in 2022
Layoffs in 2024 (plus some widely ridiculed cost reductions)
Now we've got TWO rounds of layoffs in 2025, plus return to office as a means of soft layoffs, and we're still in July.

Do they really think they're gonna win back shareholders like this? Are they that delusional? Everyone knows they're a sinking ship. Tossing out so much fucking cargo doesn't tell anyone that Intel's gonna rebound and stay afloat -- it only signals that the only thing of value that's gonna be left is whatever that can be stripped for parts.

They peaked with 12th gen and anything released after that was a massive flop or a ticking bomb that gave them the worst PR nightmare

Just boughted more Intelaviv stocks. The US government will never allow it to fail with TSMC owning the other big fabs.

Anon, you just fucked up in a really obvious way. The fact that you are now trying to double down is way more pathetic than your initial mistake.

Overall that's true, but Intel was still competitive on a couple of price points and for single thread performance + productivity stuff in general.

intel was the king when AMD were releasing their FX-line of CPU's.
I remember being jealous as a sweaty teen that i couldn't afford a intel CPU, but like every succesful company they got high on their success, got lazy, stopped trying to compete since people would just buy it anyway and then 10 years down the line get their shit pushed in by their competitors who were actually trying to make a better product.

its not corperate infighting its the jeetflation. Tech companies are trying to get an UNSKILLED workforce in the USA to take highpaying tech related jobs from people who have otherwise earned it. Its the biggest fuckign betrayal Trump has to to the American worker.

you're kind of missing teh point though - it's an industry that nvidia cannot supply adequately while simultaneously the us government is bending over backwards to get domestic chip production plants running and are willing to subsidize that with fed money - this is a potential gravy train for intel

>They were the undisputed king
they never were. they got their lead from absolutely sabotaging AMD (i.e. their backup supplier) at every turn
pentium 4 was absolute dogshit. amd overtook them with their athlon processors and then intel started crippling AMD thanks to their compilers picking worse execution paths if an AMD cpu was detected
intel also launched gave massive discounts to OEMs for shipping their processors. there have been huge lawsuits over this
and when amd was making a kililng in the market with its opteron CPUs back in the day, nintendo literally paid hundreds of millions in cash to companies to get them to keep using their CPUs
intel is truly despicable. garbage company.
ps: amd is shit too, but intel is an order of magnitude worse

I love my 9800X3D. Intel has no equivalent and their platform sucks in general. AM5 keeps getting faster with BIOS updates, Intel keeps getting slower with every microcode update.
