It will do well but there will be backlash once male fans realize that Nintendo (by orders from Blackrock most likely) made Zelda the lead protagonist of the movie and not Link. She has top billing

Isn't it going to be live-action this time? I doubt it's going to be as well received as the Mario movie, which was animated.

We haven't had a good fantasy flick in AGES since capeshit took over. It could work just off of that fact alone. Now I don't expect it to be Lord of the fucking Rings but at least a quarter of that would already be pretty good.

it won't be lotr or got level because the story/lore isn't comparable
kids movies always do fantastic cause parents use the films as babysitters, they won't be taking 3 yr olds to see a goofy elf in a dress, and being live action will limit appeal

you can expect everyone who played the mainline games to go see the film, that's about it
non gamers won't like it that much, they'll say it's too simple

film 2 adult, forest, fire, water temples
