the context for dagda in SMT IVA is that he literally makes a deal with you at the start of the game (that you can decline and the game ends) that he'll save your life as long as you let him possess you and use you as a god slayer.
it's not really a choice you are given to not follow his orders, since he can just yeet himself out of your body and you'd die.
is what i'd say if the MC didn't have a magical mcguffin that circumvents this

This scene was the only scene where I actually came to like the characters. Except Toki. Her turn was out of place.
Turns out utter despair was what these characters needed to make them worthwhile.
