Well? Where's the fucking list?

Advent Sinners is a pretty ambitious title with a huge amount of characters and scope. Stats stolen from the store page state:

· 7 Books;
· 5,500+ Illustrations;
· 80-song Soundtrack;
· 40+ Main Characters;
· A 2,000,000 Words Storyline.

I've always been crummy at knowing how many words two million is though. books don't generally have wordcounts. The game seems interesting because it has RPG stats which implies a battle might occur at some point, but I'm four hours in and nothing like that has happened yet. That doesn't mean it won't occur, though! Also it doesn't seem to go for the traditional "routes" of dating sims where just one dialogue choice chooses your path. You get asked loads of questions to get a much broader assessment of the kind of person you are and the sort of choices you tend to make.

Last Report was a decent enough little horror game. I played through it once, but clearly didn't get the good ending. I might go through it again and figure out what the underlying mystery is. It's a document analysis game, like Papers, Please.

Drifter is an above-average point and click game. You get murdered by a shadowy organization at the start but you can resurrect like in Groundhog Day. I have only returned to life once so far, but I bet it happens again. You try to save a journalist who got kidnapped before your eyes. It's pretty good I'd reccomend it.

The main character is mildly "woke" because he's a homeless drifter, but lectures people about how they shouldn't call him homeless and that sort of thing. It's more of a character flaw than a mouthpiece for the developers though. The main character is clearly a bit conceited and prideful and too stubborn to just admit that he's a dirty beggar.

I have fallen madly in love with this game and it's a strong contender for the best side scrolling ARPG I've ever played. Excited that the team's working on a new project but bummed to hear this one didn't do very well because it's got the stones to feel like an honest to God adventure that doesn't give a fuck about the player at every single turn. The setting and music are so charming on top of that

Sofia in Exchange for Lies was really good, but it got less reviews than even Last Report, somehow. Isn't it always that way? You should go play it, but to be fair, it does have some absolutely bullshit puzzles.

It's a text entry game and to use an example, one of the riddles is "name an object that is commonly worn on the face." Go on, try name the object. I'll tell you if you get it right. (you won't)

Siren's Well came out, but I haven't bought it yet. I will get it eventually, I think, though.

Time Loop game. Haven't gotten to this one yet either, so I don't know how it is. Pretty sure the game did have a demo at one point though. As you can tell from the menus, kind of an Alien Isolation feel, if you remember those utility boxes from that game.

Undermine 2 drops in two days. the only sales pitch this really needs is to go play Undermine 1. you can shut the fuck up about binding of isaac and hollow knight because I don't care. Undermine's better.

Scavengers of Death got a new demo, actually. It's an RE2/XCOM crossover.

For that matter, Lacerator got an update that now features castration. Sort of off-topic but I also play a vast quantity of demos in addition to newly released indie games. I went through twenty demos yesterday.

Deep Sleep comes out in one month.

Lumina Veil is actually available for free to everybody and just got an update to the game.

EDEN ZERO only got 38 reviews. I guess that makes it an indie game lmao. don't buy it now, it's going to drop drastically in price soon if these numbers are accurate.

Out of Sight came out a month or two ago, but has already dropped it's price by 40%. It can probably go lower though.

Second person horror game, you play as a blind girl who can only see through the mystical eyes of a teddy bear that she carries around and can place in certain locations. So essentially, a fixed camera game but you can move the camera around. If you get frustrated by times in games where your character goes offscreen and you can't see where you are navigating it's probably not for you.

Heartworm comes out on the final day of the current month, a reasonably promising survival horror game.

Devil Spire Falls is actually created by a 4chan poster, you can see him here sometimes. The early reviews for his game seem pretty positive.

This one is a blatant ripoff of that one episode of Breaking Bad where they bikelock a guy's neck to a pole in the basement. But it's an anime girl instead of a mexican drug dealer.

The protagonist has amnesia so he doesn't know WHY some girl is locked in the basement with him.

they supposedly didn't use AI, which makes this even more puzzling. My guess is they're using some weird definition of "illustrations" to reach those numbers, like "every single item in the background is its own CG (even if they are used only in that one place)", the devs are chinks so it wouldn't surprise me. The CGs/sprites don't seem to be uploaded anywhere, so it's not like we can even check.

He Is Coming release into EA a few days ago.
It's roguelite autobattler slop, but it's fun roguelite autobattler slop. Really impressed how different the woodland is to the swamp, and how kingmaker lets you combine the two.

oh turns out advent sinners breaks up it's plotline into different DLCs for every "book". This one is sort of on me, I suppose. They said directly on the store page it would be seven books and I assumed that was just a pretentious way of referring to the length of the game.

It's not really their fault when they said it directly and I just misunderstood. Still, I sort of doubt I'd get all seven books at 15 dollars each.

I like the idea of seeing a lightly curated list of upcoming games but how do you do it without getting shill accusations or shitposted into oblivion?

Checked my wishlist to see what was coming out soon. In particular, I liked Contract Rush since it had a nice newgrounds feel which was comfy. Cleanfall's demo was also pretty fun involving going down a huge hole ala MiA.

Just ignore them I suppose. You get accused of shilling no matter what, regardless of how silly it is to believe that a consortium of disparate indie games have assembled to form a group intent on posting 4chan threads on here.

These threads don't really catch on though, because not many people are really interested in the super-obscure indie game genre. I play stuff like Poseidon's Conspiracy which still hasn't even cracked ten reviews. The odds of me finding another player of that are pretty remote.

I like this sort of stuff though, one benefit is that I can talk to the developers of the games I play whenever I want, they're so desperate for feedback. One of them added a whole ending just for me one time, because I made a sarcastic comment that they misinterpreted. I had to buy the game after that episode because it would be churlish not to after they did exactly what I asked for, even if I had been facetious at the time.
