Why did it have so much more soul than Bananza?

DK64 has better aesthetics, music, and atmosphere but DKB has better gameplay.

I wish the worlds in DKB felt more "lived in". They feel more like floating abstract sandboxes dioramas than real places


Idk what is up with modern EPD composers. DKB's OST isn't bad, but the best songs are DKC remixes. The rest of the soundtrack is just average. Even Odyssey didn't have a particularly strong OST, especially compared to Galaxy or Sunshine. Metroid Dread's music was done by EPD and it was shit. BOTW and TOTK have weak soundtracks. Etc.

I loved the bananza themes but they are 5 songs that only play sometimes and are very high energy. The rest of the sound track(that isn't taken from the rare composers) are so somber a quiet that you can barely hear them or very generic boss music
