You mean Quality of Life mods? Not really.
Install mods after you've beaten the final boss/completed a run.
Spell Lab is good for learning good wand builds.
There's a few mods which tweak how lighting works and a mod which fixes vampirism but even that I think is overkill.

The discord server has good info once you get a win, but it is overwhelmingly full of faggots and trannies
