>>715985378the other problem with /vg/ is that too many of the generals themselves are nothing more than a themed chatroom with occasional vidya. and why wouldn't it be? a thread needs to stay afloat and the kinds of people who'll stick with a singular thread for a long time are filtered from those who are REALLY attached to the game.
even if certain types of threads got sorted into more-relevant boards like /vmg/ that doesn't solve the persistent problem of /v/ being a fucking cesspool of /b/, twitter screencap, and /pol/ threads. there still are genuine vidya threads but they're competing against an endless deluge of garbage. there isn't anywhere for recurring threads to really go, and in any case it's not like recurring is itself a bad thing. people try to repel people to /vg/ for wanting to continue talking once a thread hit bump limit and slid off the catalog despite the thread only showing up once a month if even.
