>>716006360 (OP)Has some really great basebuilding mechanics. Somewhat like Fallout 4 where everything snaps together, but Viking themed. The core gameplay loop is fun, but it's used too many times. First you get all the weapons/armor/tools/food from the first biome. After that you ascend to the next crafting tier when you kill the boss of that biome. Finally you gather resources in the second biome and grind in preparation for the next boss, replacing all your old gear. This loop is repeated for each new biome, but it gets harder, more dangerous and longer each time. If you aren't pursuing your own goal of making really cool bases, you'll probably get tired of the repetition. Some of the biomes add a new mechanic, black forest gets mining, mistlands gets lamps, you get a metal detector at some point, crossbow, etc.. Some add gimmicky but useless items that keep it fresh for a bit. Some animals are tamable. Each biome has it's own version of instanced dungeons and they can be quite fun in a rogue-like way because they are procedural generated little mazes full of enemies, and sometimes mini-bosses. It's minecraft/terreria with better combat and physics. I've put lots of time into this game just basebuilding but if that isn't your thing I can't recommend it because the core gameplay isn't complex enough to warrant the same grind 9 times (and counting because the final biome isn't released).
As far as survival/crafting games go, it's my favorite. I prefer it to Minecraft because it has physics and combat. It's got a persistent world unlike Conan Exiles. Terraria is 2D. Better UI than Ark:Survival evolved. It's the best of the genre among the games that I've played.
