It's crazy how many zoomers are pretending it wasn't a massive disappointment because they weren't alive then. Dreamcast was kicking its ass from 2000-2001.
This is what everyone deeply invested in the hobby thought of the PS2 when it was released:
>one of the worst launches ever
>took the length of the Dreamcast's entire lifespan to get a good game
>hideous graphics with jaggies
>everything is brown and dull after the colorful Dreamcast
>DOA2 port had worse lighting than Dreamcast
>normalfag pandering out the ass after Dreamcast had only creative and cutting edge games for enthusiasts
This is where gaming died.

ps2 had fun games but as kids we liked 64 / gamecube / xbox games better because everyone could play
I think I was out of high school around 2013 before I even realized the dreamcast existed
before then I thought sega genesis was their last console
