Demon's Souls is the better game but Oscar's set looks sexier, up there with BB's Hunter set. Although it always bothered me that DS1 doesnt have cloth physics. Even the lazy cashgrab remaster didnt fix this issue.

Hunters are a response to Yharnams plague. Beast plagues existed before in the distant past, but there were no countermeasures, your society just got destroyed. Loran is the prime example of this, you encounter beasts unique to these dungeons, specifically ones who can cast magic or use lightning. I feel like weapons in DeS and DaS1 had a certain heftiness to them that they just never had again. Each iteration weapons felt more and more weightless as the games got faster and faster;

I don't care if it's easier, I really liked the almost turn-based slow combat of the first two games. I never understood people who play these games for the difficulty, for me the best thing about them was always the exploration/dungeon-delving, finding new areas and enemies and tackling them like a puzzle, instead of an over the top reflex check.

For me it's Dark Silver armor.
What Bl*epoint did to it, and the whole game in general, is a crime against humanity.

That's one of the things I absolutely love about DaS2. There are no unique armors from DaS1 that returned, and it makes the game actually feel like a lot of time has passed. The Royal Soldier armor being inspired by a Paladin armor of old is so much cooler than if the armor returned outright, like so many sets did in DaS3. Only general armors like generic knight, warrior, wanderer etc. returned.
Havel's armor is the exception, but even then you can argue it's the armor of one of his soldiers thanks to the item descriptions.
I think DaS2 is better as a sequel than DaS3 is

The Catarina set is from Catarina, the land, and not Siegmeyer or Sieglinde specifically. The Dark set are also just a bunch of darkwraiths, not any one character. The Painting guardians are also a group. Could've worded it better, but I thought it was kinda obvious what I meant.
Kirk's armor, Solaire's, Lautrec's, Tarkus', Anor Londo firekeeper, Chreighton's, Lucatiel's etc. armors returning is less cool than if an armor set had been inspired by those.

It's crazy how dark souls 3 despite being, on a technical level, so much better than 2, it ended up on the long run being a worst game just by being too safe and having nothing unique going for it.

There's literally zero reason to replay 3, it's just a worse elden ring, while 2 remains an unique experience even with all its glaring flaws, worth going back to and still fun.

Fluted is based as fuck but I really like the DS1 armor because it is both realistic looking but also fantasy looking with the coat and various decorative bits. It's the perfect mix of real and fantasy.

I agree with you 100%. And while I did enjoy some of the difficult encounters in later games, I think Elden Ring is the perfect example of From forgetting what made these games special in the first place. Now it's all about boss fights where you get to attack once every minute as the enemy does a million combos in a row while also doing obnoxiously long wind ups into lightning fast attacks. All the soul is gone.

I always wished there was a way to remove all the rust and scratches in your armor or weapons at the blacksmith. Like if there was a "pristine" version of these items in the files. I don't want to be walking around with rusted to fuck weapons and armor that's full of holes. I'd gladly pay the blacksmith to fix it. I was disappointed that there was a Tailoring menu in Elden Ring but you couldn't do this, especially since Elden Ring is by far the worst offender in this regard. There's so many sets in Elden Ring that would theoretically look great if they weren't fucking busted. The Brigandine on the Exile Set is a great example.

This is still the coolest armor set in all of the fromsoft games.
The helmet especially went so well with tons of other sets in DaS.

Knights (or rather men at arms) most often wore tabards, and lots of armour was painted as well. Not only for aesthetics, it was a sort of rust protection. Medieval people didn't like things left bare. They would've thought of it as unfinished. They painted walls, windows, armour, clothes, belts, everything. It's a shame almost no games have painted armour, even though it was actually quite common at the time.
