Humans have a military that is near comparable to the Council races' military, and thankfully, humans are willing to play ball. The Council throws the Alliance a bone by granting them sizable territory and pussyfooting around putting them on the Council.
This ensures a few things, primarily that the humans will not try to challenge the Council militarily and remains in good allegiance politically, and two, that the territory assigned to Earth by the Council comes largely from B*t*rian space and the Alliance will essentially colonize those sectors for the Council without them having to lift a finger.

Vanguard and Adept are pretty damn fun in ME1
In ME2 I always went Vanguard, but I tried Sentinel this time and tech armor is GOATed. Not as flashy as vanguard charge, but it similarly lets you become a nigh-invincible tank that can rush up to people and beat the shit out of people instead of worrying about cover mechanics.

Only played ME3 once at launch as vanguard, which was even better than in ME2. After my current playthrough we'll see how sentinel performs in that game I guess.

for pure damage output, then soldier is the best in all three games. for fun its probably vanguard or infiltrator depending on what you like. the first game is so easy even on the hardest difficulty that it doesnt really matter what you do, but I imagne vanguards might have trouble on insanity in games 2 and 3. not sure.

That was during the first contact war, and even then the Humans surprised the Turians with how capable they were.
With many years and more advanced arms under their employ now, the Alliance is probably nearing Turian level (basically 90% or Council military).

I don't know about "far" stronger. Like you said, there are treaties on numbers of ships and whatnot.

As detailed as ME's worldbuilding is, there's still a ton of stuff that doesn't really make any sense. The main council races have been around for a couple thousand years. They should have already colonized pretty much every last inch of accessible space. Instead, the majority of the galaxy, even near main mass relays, is presented as the wild west, as if ALL the races have only recently discovered FTL.

Another aspect of this that kinda irks me is how planetary populations in ME rarely make any sense. For instance, Ilium only has 85 million people. For a whole planet that's an idealistic garden world where we see a giant coruscant-tier megalopolis, that's fucking ridiculous. What, this planet has this one single super technological city cramped with people and the rest of the planet is completely unpopulated despite being a paradise?

Many such cases. Earth only has 11 billion people. That planet that's literally just a giant landmind (the one you recruit Grunt) has a population of 4 billion. Eden Prime is described as one of the first human colonies and yet only has 3-4 million total, absolutely nothing.

I remember a codex entry saying that sea levels have risen a full 2 meters and the weather is crazy due to climate change by the time of the first game. It is only recently that new advanced tech has allowed humanity to get climate change sorta under control.

According to the lore, the other races expanded in accordance to their military capabilities.
Earth expanded as far as they could.
Which is why when, in ME2, the fringe SA colonies were hit, the Council treated it as a SA matter, because humanity expanded too far, too fast, and couldn't defend themselves.

I disagree. I think people did care, but liked the franchise in spite of these issues.
Then Bioware blew everything up, erased all of the franchise's agency, dumped it to some talentless hacks, failed to create a new IP, and now they're left with a dating sim that retired its waifus.

I think they did a good job don't get me wrong. I just think there's very little cohesion with some of the codex entries that maybe show little inconsistencies across entries, like the timeline of Asaris discovering the relays etc. Little shit that the average player wouldn't even know unless they were looking for it.

The other major issue I have with the world is how vanilla all the race designs feel and that one is clearly remediable since they were previously limited by the models and animations leading to most races being colored humanoids. I wish they could just hit reset and give us the full tentacles Asaris and four-legged Turians, giant Krogans, etc. And fix the ending while they're at it.

I played Adept for my first playthrough, and then the stealthy sniper class for my 2nd. Space wizard is cool, but sneaky breeky was stronger. Especially in 2. Holy fuck, Adept in 2 could be pure agony, especially in solo missions where you can't use a teammate's abilities to delete shields/armor. It was a ton of fun yoinking dudes off cliffs, though. I'm butthurt that the projectile tracking for Adept skills got nerfed into the ground in 3, so you can no longer curve your projectile's trajectory as much to throw dudes perpendicular to your facing angle.

It can be a 7/10.
Not an IGN 7/10, but an actual 7/10 game.
That being said, a 7/10 isn't the kind of game that can save Bioware.
It's Greedfall tier.
They can sell a million copies, maybe?
That's not keeping the lights on.
What's most likely, though, is EA slowly starving the game out, until it's not possible to keep working on the game anymore.

Biotics got shafted hard in ME2. Vanguard charge is the only decent one. That and warp, but warp is fucking boring anyway. For everything else, what does it matter what cool effects the powers do if the enemy needs to be totally unarmored/unshielded for it to do anything? And at that point you might as well just kill them the normal way with guns

We kicked the Turians asses during the first contact war when we knew what we were up against before the council stepped in and stopped the war.

Humanity just because it's new to the Galaxy isn't some pussyfooted species that suck council dick 24/7 for protection (like the Elcor or Volus) we have a sizeable population and fleet and can wave our military cocks around plenty to get what we want AND have been shown willing to colonise in dangerous far border regions of the galaxy.

Also due to the councils rules/bans on powering up newly discovered Mas Effect relays just because we "own" a large chunk of the galaxy on a map doesn't mean we've "unlocked" all the planets and lands there as fully ours

It's likely humanities control of key relay hubs basically boosted our 2D borders but not a lot of actually impressive planets in those sectors that are worth a shit for mass colonization

Humans basically try to be a jack of all trades civ while the council races min max a few tech/culture trees and as a result are heavily reliant on humanity to pick up the slack when they faulter in their specalised areas.

TL:DR Humanity rules and Aliens are faggots

Probably not. The magic in mass effect was discovering this fleshed out world for the first time and soaking it all in. With the trilogy concluded, there just really is not the option to regain that sense of discovery.

The shame of it is that Andromeda's premise of having colony ships going to.a brand new galaxy COULD HAVE allowed for this same sense of wonder and awe, but they completely dropped the ball anyway
