i tried monster hunter worlds (random gift) and thought it was strictly worse than monster hunter tri, sorry. MH worlds is casualized to the point its not challenging at all to play. they overcorrected it to get more fans.

no modern fighter game is as good as the stuff from the 2000s.

the best SMT games are on the ps2.

i played demons souls and its good enough elden ring is just a watered down version of it

2012/13 had some pretty good games - Kid Icarus Uprising, Dragon's Dogma, Etrian Odyssey IV, Dragon's Crown, Tearaway, Sayonara Umihara Kawase, A Link Between Worlds.

Past that? Odin Sphere got an incredible remake in Leifthrasir, Pseudoregalia's cool if you liked anything about Super Mario 64, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is an adventure game that feels decades removed from 2024 in a good way. I dunno, it's definitely gotten drier but it's not like there are no good games out there.
