I'm at the start. I'd like to go exploring, see stuff. But where I went was fenced off. Seems game wants me to do boring shit and succumb to durr, doing the bad combat. Pretty cool i'm not suceptible to durr adiction. Doing my own thing is a real challenge, finding a way, better to make a way maybe. Give up on it. Keep what it was supposed to be and what works as base instead of replaced with durr.

Also camera should be lower to the ground and closer to your character. They should look big on the screen. Seeing in front would be a problem. Maybe that could be made gameplay. Rely on help to indicate whats ahead. Imagine it and then around it (it around).

I wish we got to explore all of the Northern sections of Eorzea, we never really get to truly explore Dravania, the northern coast or anything.

When they added Xelphatol as a dungeon in this game i know they were stepping down a very lazy and bad direction. Any location from the map people had talked about for years in community discussion could just become a shitty gauntlet dungeon people forget about within ten minutes of clearing it. Absolutely nothing could come out of that except devaluing the world building time and time again.

Never turn entire sections of a world map that you can see from space into a shitty little dungeon.

Right now, it's either Meracydia or Reflection hopping.
Given that Shadowbringers is still babby's first favorite expansion, and that was a reflection hop one, they might break glass in case of emergency and zoom straight to another reflection in hopes that it'll evoke the Shadowbringers feeling again.
As for the story: 7.1 was kind of just a microcosm of what made 7.0 so shit, but I can't blame it too much since traditionally, x.1s have never been that good, and usually are to close to the x.0s to really make any meaningful change based on feedback.
7.2 was good, but one patch does not a pattern make. We'll have to see how they do with 7.3 to at least get an idea of whether they got their shit together, or if 7.2 was just a fluke.
