And where does that popularity come from? Since when are tactical police shooters popular? It hasn't done well on Twitch, nor on Steam Charts, I've never seen console gamers eager to play it on forums or other social media, and on /v/ the game was being trashed even before the censorship drama.

Least in Swat 4 you can get them to submit most of time if you have non lethal equipment..

theyre a lot less likely to have standoffs with you and generally like to shoot you on sight, unless you get the drop on them. yelling and pointing guns at them still works a lot of the time, but you kind of have to sneak up on them and be close. if they were the type to give up instantly, but youre far away from them, they usually take off into the map, and if they group up with other perps youll probably have to shoot them now.

pepperballs work pretty good and youll probably want to equip all your ai squadmates with them, or else theyll just roll through the map doming everyone. theyre just as trigger happy as the perps now, but only if theyre shot at first.

SWAT4 is the better SWAT fantasy overall. This new game is more shooter focused overall and just tries to imitates SWAT the best it can but to me it's not close. The missions in SWAT were more memorable as well.

I can say for sure, 95% of console players haven't heard of the censorship fiasco.

They just saw a shooter with heavy realism elements and boughted, the devs also paid for a marketing slot at the top of the psn storefront so everyone who has opened the psn store since last week has seen a RoN ad
