If you have a japenese lever, releasing the stick from the forward input will make it bounce back into inputting a back input because the spring inside the lever isn't that strong. These are known as ghost inputs (unintended inputs that can fuck your wavedash up). The K-lever uses a rubber grommet that is way more tense, if you release it when holding forward it will go back to neutral and stay there. It means with some quick hand movement you can release the stick with 1 finger and quickly press it down (into down-forward) with another finger. This way you don't have to manually guide the stick through the entire neutral input and can just tap and release with your fingers.
