>>716048825>I wouldn't be surprised because Activision has done this kind of obscure shit numerous times. It may be insignificant here but in case of weak and medium PCs it can be significant.>Somehow every single one of their old games suddenly starts working badly when they release a new Call of duty or buying cosmetic items improves aim asist and improves connection to serversyou missed the point anon was bringing; why would activision care enough to do this?
here's the gist; if someone has the game on steam, and it runs like shit, they'll think activision can't optimize their games and think anyone saying it runs well on their machine (whether bnet or steam) are full of shit
and if they have it on bnet, then it might run a bit better, and then what?
neither of these scenarios would involve the person dropping steam to go to bnet, unless the rumor that the game ran better on bnet was to spread, but then people wouldn't blame steam because who the fuck would do that when you're talking about activision, they'll assume activision is up to some buttfuckery as usual
but activision can't gain anything here, it's all either neutral or bad, and by neutral it's still bad because it means having engineering work figure out ways to reduce framerate when running on steam aka money to spend
it's most likely that the game is trash and people are retarded
