10+ years ago I would pirate everything and not think twice about it, but now that I'm an adult with a salary and can actually buy games I feel awful about pirating and sometimes end up buying the game instead, specially if it's a niche game

Your balls are regressing into a vagina
i suggest you inject a huge amount of Rich Piana-brand testosterone

You could also lick more beavers and inject yourself with elephant musth juice

Buying games from smaller devs to support them is good if you have the means. You shouldn't be feeling any guilt whatsoever about pirating AAA slop from big companies though.

Providing patronage to those who make things you like so they can make more of it feels nice. Emphasis on things you like, don't give money to shitty people making shitty things.

Look OP there are enough people out there buying AAA or whatever games and the publisher, the storefront, and dev studio don’t care about you. Just because you can afford it doesn’t mean it’s now worth the money, and frankly you’re already being preyed upon by several systems in place to rape your income and your life: outrageous social security withholdings, income tax, etc. all structured to serve the people who provide that same system less than your income stream does. Stop giving your fucking money away for anything less tangible than food, tools, or at least I don’t know stuff you can actually call your property and the next time you’re thinking about spending $70 on a game just throw that shit into savings - preferably a mutual fund. Do this while the money’s good.

Buying low profile games is a nice deed though but just because a dev is small time doesn’t make them good.

I don't feel bad for pirating, but I rarely finish the games I pirate unless they are REALLY good. On the other hand for the games I buy it's the opposite and I'll finish them unless they are REALLY bad. Unless they were dirt cheap.

Games are for fun not completing "to get your monies worth" despite not actually enjoying it. I drop things I buy just as often as the things I pirate because I'm not a retard wasting my time for no reason.

But games also require patience to experience fully. I missed out on my favorite game ever as a kid (MGS3) because I kept quitting in the initial hours. Eventually I had the patience to stick to it.

That's the correct thing to do.
Revenue in niches is pretty slim so individual purchases actuall do matter. Not at all for AAA shit but if you have a genre/style of game you want more of then you can see you purchase as an investment almost.

if for you it's easier to buy the game than pirate it, then that's what it is. Like gabe said something about piracy being a service problem or something.

To be fair not all games, mostly latest releases, get pirated nowadays, so it's understandable to simply bite the bullet and buy the damn thing, especially if we're talking about early access or indieshit. Or sometimes if you want to fully enjoy the online gameplay experience without issues, in most cases it's easier to buy the game instead of dancing around VPNs or loophole updates (i remember the fucking pain of this with early Payday2, for example)
That being said, don't be a fucking pussy and just pirate the games you want, if it's possible and aren't TBs of dolphin porn involved
