I think that Sony will fund it, especially with the success of the TV show, but realistically with ballooning development cycles and budgets it gets stuck in development hell and naughty dog goes under.

Remake 2, kill Joel in a less stupid way, remove the Zebra scene, and have Ellie go out for revenge with Tommy instead of nose lady, without skipping the entire travel time.
