Outlast was 10 times more disturbing and fucked up than Manhunt but didn't receive 1 percent of the controversy.

Because Outlast is supernatural while Manhunt is muh realism. Also you're the one performing gruesome killings, not other NPCs.

This. Also Manhunt literally rewards you for making your kills more brutal.

Because it was only violence against men. You can murder, rape, and dismember men all day but the second it happens to a woman it's every excuse under the sun for why you can't be allowed to.

7/21/2025, 6:12:31 PM No.716062359
Outlast trials is way better than the first two because you can actually defend yourself and it's also more grounded in reality with corporate MKULTRA sleeper agent stuff instead of the supernatural.
>>716058448
In trials you're often forced to kill others in incredibly gruesome ways to complete objectives.

I thought there was nothing technically supernatural in Outlast. The Walrider was a science experiment that went wrong, not a demon from folklore as it was initially compared to.
Same goes for everything else in the series.
2's ending is probably hallucination, there is no real Antichrist baby or something

Retarded-kun, there's a big difference between being in a horror setting where crazy people are doing crazy stuff while you're trying to escape and playing as a snuff film serial killer performing brutal cartel style executions.

Preying on the innate sexual fears of the male psyche (being castrated and being sexually assaulted by another male) is a good way to get a horror game to resonate with its audience.

I played the game a long ass time ago but isn't there a butchered SWAT team at the beginning and the sole survivor says "you can't fight them"? If a bunch of trained killers with automatic weapons can't take out a bunch of retarded freaks that kind of implies some kind if supernatural element to me.

Later on more hired goons of Murkoff security rolled in and killed all the retarded freaks with little effort. The team in the beginning was probably wrecked by Walrider. And yes, that particular line from the dying mook is silly and it does not really make any sense to not fight the retarded freaks, since they are in fact very fightable.
