PC exclusives in the 90s and early 2000s used to be boundary pushing masterpieces of the medium. Now they're just Twitch streamer FOTM games. What went wrong?
>>716061015 Not exclusive for very long, now was it?

>>716060789 (OP) Console focused development so you have to make only one version and port the scraps to PC. It's simply cheaper to do.
>>716060953 Case in point, this is essentially a different game thanks to how much they had to butcher it. If this version was made first and ported to PC it woud have been forgotten in a few months.
>>716060789 (OP) Console multiplats. That's it. >game needs to be able to run on a gimped CPU and GPU equivalent >controllers are vastly more limited when compared to mouse and keyboard, completely unable to play games with more involved movement, interaction or combat, because dual analog can't actually provide adequate camera/cursor control It really doesn't help that modern console controllers are practically stuck in gen 5 1/2 due to the Xbox and the rest are only 7th gen at most. The archetypal 360 pad is basically just a less capable Dreamcast controller with dual analog. >>716061441 Absurd expenses are almost entirely due to catastrophically poor management, not the increasing scope of games.

>>716060953 One says Deus Ex The other Deus Ex: The Conspiracy So um, sweaty, that makes it a spin-off or DLC, doesn't it? Also, pro hint: save a pic of StarCraft 64 copy to bring up in similar thread to mention that's StarCraft is not an exclusive as well
