Even when AI is able to make an actual video game that doesnโ€™t immediately devolve into a dementia-inducing clusterfuck, it will then proceed to reproduce every single bad habit of every dataset that it was ever trained on, magnified and made ubiquitous throughout its design. Endless AI generated trashthetics and writing that has the semblance of logic but falls apart the moment any logical pressure is added to it.

Thatโ€™s because youโ€™re retarded. People will use AI as a tool to create games just like how they use different programs and software. Only instead of having to code and build everything they will be able to generate it more efficiently through AI. AI will not just be used where a person writes a prompt and tells AI to generate a whole game.

It doesnโ€™t matter because the people using the AI will understand what fun is and theyโ€™ll use AI to create their vision the same way they use other programs and software, only with AI they will be able to do it more efficiently and cheaper. You donโ€™t need to use AI to make the entire game in one go, you make it piece by piece just like any other game.

This statement is how I know you've never built anything in your life. The only people claiming AI makes things more efficient are shills, managers that have also never built anything in their life, and people doing babby's first coding attempts.

I have to say this looks quite good but...VGH... it doesn't look like a carefully designed, methodically crafted, meaningful linear experience ripe with intelligently placed memorable moments and tastefully designed freedoms made by an artistically bold developer for the disherning customer who wants to be intellectually stimulated and not just coddled... but it looks like... and I hate pronouncing these cursed words... AN OPEN WORLD GAME (or open slop, as we intellectuals like to mockingly call it)

Your tastes are far too primitive I'm afraid

Bg mostly static with some parallax fuckery
Foreground is also pretty simple to implement

It's the middle ground that's the issue,
You can't make it look that good with 2d sprite, you'll have to do a lot voxel work which takes so much time and talent
Just making one of those House sounds like a nightmare to me

I don't think AI is the interesting thing here. What's interesting is how strongly there is a market demand for a first person fantasy game, especially one with retro graphics. I would love to see more advanced devs use modern technology with retro art styles to leverage tech for more interactivity, more detail that you can play with and less about realism.

Think about all the processing power you could save from skipping the ultra realistic rendering to have fluid simulation, real time cloth physics, high levels of destructibility, fire propagation, weather that impacts the environment, advanced NPC / Enemy AI that remembers things and reacts realistically..

We've given all these cool things up to cram as much visual detail into games as possible. Give me the chunky pixel art 3D graphics and use the power for cool interactivity!
