Lost Crown is a genuinely great game with a terrible story. I know Metroivania's aren't known for great storytelling, but Lost Crown starts off strong an evolves into actual nonsense.

In the realm of 3D world design, Prince of Persia was supplanted by Assassin's Creed. So with this in mind they wanted the series to go back to its roots as a 2D sidescroller as to not cannibalize their market.

So right from the start they're making a game that's not appealing to fans of the more recent Prince of Persia games. Then on top of that they put in a protagonist who's perfectly fine if you're not a racist piece of shit, but is also undeniably the embodiment of the "we wuz kangz" meme.

It didn't really matter how good the game actually turned out to be. With what I just mentioned combined with the stink of being a Ubisoft game it wasn't going to succeed.
