No. For how much it costs to get into, you might as well go get a PPL and rent a real plane. It's only good at simulating systems and procedure, the AI sucks, it has no focus or consistency in module development, and is actually less realistic than even War Thunder in certain aspects, like radar and infrared modelling. If you really want this experience, get Falcon BMS instead, since it's a better simulator in all the ways that matter AND it costs nothing AND it isn't like 500gb. If you just want a fun combat flight sim and don't need to go all-in on realism, try Nuclear Option, or maybe IL-2 if you prefer prop planes.

Yes, it's dirt cheap compared to buying a proper HOTAS and VR Helmet. Just don't touch (((steam))) edition.

If you care about the full systems simulation then yes, it's very fun if you find learning all of that entertaing. If you just want to fly combat missions then you have better options like >>716070346 mentioned.

>>716072104
The cost of every single plane and mission DLC (which you will never have enough time to learn and play) will not get you a real license. Not even close.

Why would you ever use steam cancer? They have their own store, updater and modding site.

It's a (((centralized))) useless 3rd party bloatware. You get the worse version of the game, late updates, can't even control when and how the game updates, no features like free trial versions, no sales etc etc. They only put it on steam for those mentally ill zoomers who simply can't use games without their favorite CIA botnet.

Its got spaghetti code from 2008, they release unfinished modules, and apparently don't pay 3rd party devs while the owner takes the profits for his airplane collection. The A10 and F14 are really fun though but I enjoy Nuclear Option more as of late.

DCS is an actual simple web store and doesn't force you to install a fucking system service that is spying on you 24/7, whenever you play the game or not.

spotted the cuck. With steam if something goes south you can actually get your money back. with the standalone version you're told to fuck off.

airportS. with an S. if you have nothing but one big airport that's like claiming your country has restaurants when all it has is an enormous mcdonalds.
