>It's acceptable to like shitty B-movies
>It's never ever EVER ok to like a shitty 5/10 game
What causes this phenomenon?

What? Have you never seen a SOUL post about how ugly, clunky old games are better because they are ugly and clunky?

Firstly, games are a 10-20+ hour commitment. If you're going to spend that much time on something, you want it to be actually good.
Secondly, games are active entertainment, not passive. They need your focus, and they rely on interactive elements that can hinder or even ruin the experience if not crafted with appropriate care.

The problem with shitty games is that unless they're something like 15 minute newgrounds games they're best watched to not have to play the shitty game. Only exception is if the gameplay isn't the thing that's bad.
