we've all been saying the same since dragon age 2 and mass effect 2.

We're in an age where franchises long past their due date are zombified and kept alive because old people can't move past what they grew up with.

>KOTOR gets 1 half baked sequel
>Mass Effect gets multiple sequels and spin offs
It's so unfair. Back when it first released I wanted to go and slap all the people that said 'it's just as good as KOTOR Biowares best work ever'
Is mass effect even that popular you rarely hear it talked about outside gayming publisists and then it's only the first two games and how bad the ending for 3 was

Mass effect is pretty damn popular, and incredibly influential in the rpg genre as one of biowares signature games. I honestly have no idea what they are doing with this game or how they could follow up the ending of 3, plus given how shitty the writing of veilguard was(the one thing bioware should still be able to do right), I know it won’t be good. But a part of me will always hold on to the hope of “what if bioware was good again”

I guess, I wasn't particularly impressed by it so I just ignored the franchise and rarely heard of it again.

It’s probably their best trilogy in terms of overall quality, despite the hate me3 gets for the ending it’s still a fun game, and it has the best gameplay out of biowares collection imo.

I want a ME4 with a smaller scope. No galaxy-ending threats, just political intrigue and a side of ass-kicking.

To be fair that was always a problem with dragon age even before bioware fell off completely.
>dragon age 2 ignores everything in ferelden to instead focus on a random city and the mage templar war
>inquisition ignores and potentially offscreens the da2 named protag while ending the mage templar war in act 1 to focus on some shitty dlc villain
>veilguard drops the elf rebel god main villain for other lame ass elf gods
God I miss my shitty fantasy engurland and my cute swamp witch

nta but kotor 2 is blatantly unfinished and the ending is a joke(classic obsidian), kotor 1 actually feels like star wars and is a complete game. Me1 is better than both imo

it is more memorable, especially when you play the true dark side ending. that game is a broken fucking mess though, and you need unofficial patches just to play it.
