>>716094021 (OP) It was great, I had both this and Mario Kart 64 as a child, and even though I liked the aesthetic of Mario Kart better I think DKR was the better game.
Unlocking the space levels was kino, completely unexpected for me when I was a kid

I am now of the opinion all Rare N64 games are actually bad except Conker's.
I used to like them but I'm 50 years old now, it's time to grow up.
I was surprised that it's actually kind of challenging even as an adult I know I'm shit at video games but I actually had to practice some of those coin races and fucking wizpig
>>716094021 (OP) BRING IT BACK NINTENDO! PUT IT ON THE VIRUAL CONSOLE!

>>716094491 T.T. was objectively the most powerful one, and Drumstick being the runner-up if T.T. was banned. If NO unlockables are allowed, then going with Tiptup or Pipsy was your best bet. The heavies were the worst ones in this game, unlike Mario Kart.

>>716094516 for me the whole hub/story mode was pretty advanced for a kart racing game that came out in 97
>>716094021 (OP) CRT, F-Zero, DKR are superior to mario kart and ahead of their time.

>>716094021 (OP) As a single player game it absolutely destroys MK64. The only thing MK64 had going for it was better item variety and better multiplayer. DKR, besides looking better and having a very fun single player mode, also has a great OST. David Wise is so good
>>716094021 (OP) It mogged Nintendo on a technical level by having full 3D models instead of sprites and making the thing a small adventure, instead of just tracks. It even mogs Mario Kart World. Nintendo had all the resources in the world to finally give the new Mario Kart a story mode / overworld and they did open warudo instead.
